USA TODAY: Fifth Harmony defining new era of girl groups

Fifth Harmony are helping define a new era of girl groups. Considering the girl group's track record post-Wannabe, that's just fine with us.

Funny they do not mention album sales, sth DC and PCD were actually great at and which also puts LM ahead of 5H.

By definition, 'in' means 'inclusion within space, a place, or limits'.
Each of those groups are 'in' this world, and so the biggest one is the one who sells the most, regardless of where in the world that is.
You could have a point if it was phrased 'biggest girl group throughout the world', alas it was not.

5H bring nothing new to the table. They don't have the appeal and impact that DC, or Spice Girls or PCD had.

But the USAs are the biggest music market in the world by a LARGE margin, and yet 5H ain't even in the top 5? Those girl groups have limited music markets because of racism and xenophobia, but 5H can't outsell them despite being 1:American and 2:"Global"?

They always get a pass for mediocre sales and impact. There is no huge girl group at the moment. And when you line them up next to who's considered the biggest artist out today, their sales and success pale in strict comparison. They're not there yet and neither are these other local ass girl groups.
