Humans are omnivorous. We are meant to consume meat and vegetables. Substituting one over the other WILL result in deficiency and unlike you he better know what the hell he is doing to his body since he's got allergies already to take care of.

I don't think there's any need to get rude about this - all that Velocity said is entirely backed up by numerous studies and meta-analysis', many available on The US National Library of Medicine and National Institute of Health.

It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases

This article reviews the current data related to key nutrients for vegetarians including protein, n-3 fatty acids, iron, zinc, iodine, calcium, and vitamins D and B-12. A vegetarian diet can meet current recommendations for all of these nutrients.

The results of an evidence-based review showed that a vegetarian diet is associated with a lower risk of death from ischemic heart disease. Vegetarians also appear to have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension and type 2 diabetes than nonvegetarians. Furthermore, vegetarians tend to have a lower body mass index and lower overall cancer rates. Features of a vegetarian diet that may reduce risk of chronic disease include lower intakes of saturated fat and cholesterol and higher intakes of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, soy products, fiber, and phytochemicals.

I just don't understand what's propagandous about this, or why it's ********. What I do understand is that this is a contentious topic and understand that it elicits emotional responses in many - people are born into omnivorous diets from very early ages, it sticks with us like our race or first language. Veganism is new and foreign to so many, and that's okay! Velocity and I aren't about to snatch your meat away from you before dinner tonight, nor do we think you're stupid and misinformed - it's far too new for many to have even heard about it so far. It's a movement really just gaining traction, and will continue to do for coming decades. It seems we all have an aversion to ******** - as you stated - so please allow us to spread a positive message, backed in science and evidence-based research, on our way to a world with healthier people, a cleaner planet and more kindness. We're only here to make the world a better place for everyone. I absolutely see why you piped up, but please don't be rude in any thread of mine.
