Race tensions are high which puts me in obvious awareness of my surroundings. But not completely fearful.

I'm frustrated with our country as a whole. All races, genders, and sexual orientations.

Same. But I feel like I'll always become a little more uncomfortable in public.

It's quite sad that some of us live in fear of those who are supposed to protect us.

I've learned as a child you always have to keep eyes behind your head, not in just these current situations, but in general as a black human being.

It's weird because I'm not very concerned about MYSELF as a black woman, I'm concerned about the black men and boys in my family. I almost broke down on the phone tonight when I called my brother to make sure he wasn't in Dallas because the shooting was only 30 mins away from us. I've been terrified for him ever since Trayvon's death. He's a good guy with no kind of record but that literally means nothing because he's a big black guy and therefore seen as a threat.

It just seems like a cyce of bad seed cops shooting black people, and then bad seed black people acting out due to anger over what happened. The cycle needs to be broken somehow.

I'm not scared of the police, actually tho. I always smile / wave at them.

But I am scared of ignorant people making assumptions about blacks based off of what (may have) happened.

And that's the scariest part, despite what they claim it doesn't matter how educated, well-dressed, or if you follow directions, you're still a target and they'll shoot to kill so NONE of us are safe. And truthfully, none of that should matter because all Black lives matter whether you're and unemployed or a CEO of a company.

I'm more very agitated and frustrated because none of this shocks me and it just keeps on going. I'm scared for others.

Been scared my whole life as a black person. When you are a poc you dont have that privilege to not feel fearful when things like that happen or of racist cops. How many white mass shooters have there been? A white dude shot 5 year olds, shoots up a university. White people never feel scared because they dont have to and they dont get targeted for the actions of others. I'm scared for myself but I'm terrified for my brother. I never want him to leave the house. I dont want to have black children until this country actually thinks their lives has the same value as a white person.

I couldn't even go to work today because I was/is so furious with the innocent killings. The innocent black male that was killed in front of his girlfriend and that child really tore me to pieces. My mom called me today and cried because she fears for her sons. I have been inside all day because I have so much anger in me that I am afraid what I would do if I am involved in a race filled situation.
