Uh, so many celebs are doing good things because they genuinely care. Madonna has impacted the world immensely with her career because she cares. Beyonce has given tens of millions of dollars to causes she is passionate about and she's only 34.

Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus are three others I can think of championing causes near to their hearts just off the top of my head. They're just human beings, too.

It's because of social media and the internet, it's easier to access them anything they do will be a a trending topic, It doesn't bother me but I could see how it would bother others.

yet most celebs donate thousands to charities all the time and they have millions of followers who they can send an important message to. What exactly have you done in your life to help those in need sis?

Only of they're glorified for something stupid like losing weight on a special "2 week miracle diet!!" or for taking their clothes off for the sole purpose of being nude. I do not have a problem with any person of influence using their platform to bring attention to a cause.

ironic coming from any member of this forum, but yes.
I can be apart of the problem and still acknowledge the fact that it is indeed a problem.
beyonces intense support is the biggest example of how mindless and borderline disturbing the glorification of celebrity can get.

to an extent yes, however, with the rise of the internet and social media celebrity worship has reached everest peaks. random celebrity news didnt used to be considered actual news until the early 2000s. to deny the fact that celebrity worship is a huge problem is to be apart of it actually. because so many people these days are so in it they dont even realize it.

i can't deal with celebrity culture anymore. it was fine when it was all confined to magazines pre-Internet, but having to read idiotic people's comments, the whole calling your fave a deity trend, no one can sit and enjoy what they're watching without going online to talk **** or have a meltdown because their expectations weren't met... it's unbearable. it's like the entire world is now populated by 13 year old teenagers.

this is why i mostly talk about TV shows and non music related stuff on the Lounge here. i'm too old to deal with y'alls hysteria even if it is fun sometimes.

Celebrities are human too though. They know about the things that go on for the most part and still can react to the world around us. It's silly to think otherwise. Like why would they NOT care? Having money doesn't turn you jaded, but it can.


edit: I feel like the internet has changed the way we interact with celebrities though, and that's something that has brought the whole "worshipping" thing to a new level as well.
