For those not keeping up, the rep from Alabama opposing the motion had just walked out of the floor.

They said it wouldn't be over and they meant it. Democrats are my heroes. They care about the American people!

That would require amending the Constitution. Not stating my stance on guns, just simply saying good luck attempting to get that accomplished. It'd never happen because of the process required to do so.

OT: Hate to be a pessimist but Congress isn't going to do ****. Can't wait to read the headline later today about how absolutely nothing ended up being accomplished.

Yes it does help. If they take a vote and the Republicans vote no they will use it against them in November when they are running for reelection.
