I want to go to a particular concert but it is in a large venue in a foreign country and I will be going alone. I don't want to feel/look awkward at it (even though I inevitably will ). Should I buy seating or standing tickets.

Standing means I have to queue early to get near the front and stand on my own all day surrounded by bubbly couples and friend groups while I remain a loner but seating means I can just slip in near starting time but during the concert, it just feels like it will be more isolating. I don't no what to do. Maybe I should just sit in the toilet cubicle all night where no one will see I'm alone

I have done that. I went to see Fifth Harmony last year in Paris ALONE. Don't worry. You'll obviously talk with someone next to you and, even if you don't, everyone is there for the concert. Nobody will have "time" to look at you or care about what you're doing.

Extra Bonus: Even if that happens, no one knows you, you can do the most of yourself that you won't see the people next to you again.

Well, you could meet someone in the queue! You are not the only one who will be alone.

Seating does feel isolating I did it and nobody next to me was dancing or singing . Standing sounds more fun especially if you meet someone while waiting but it's up to you .

Dont feel awkward going alone, just have fun and enjoy the concert.

Go for standing! You will meet/talk to people in the queue who you can dance with during the show!
When I went to artRave me and my friend spoke to tons of people throughout the day whilst we were waiting, and anyone who was alone someone would approach them!

i went all alone to see paul last month and a lot of people were there queuing alone too. it was fun, we were all talking to each other and saving each other's places when we had to go to bathroom etc. it was much better going alone then going with someone who doesn't really care that much about the artist.

and now i wanna die because i remembered how great it was and that i'm not going to see him again anytime soon...

I went to one alone and didn't like it. I'd prefer going to one with my BF at some point.

Standing. You would sit out like a sore thumb being alone seating. Plus even when I have been with friends I have still always ended up meeting and talking to new people in a standing queue, they're usually really friendly (other than when people try and push in lol)

I've only ever been to concerts alone and hate the thought of talking to strangers but even then it has never been a terrible experience. Not to mention that the couple of concerts I went to w/ other people were seated and pretty awkward.

Disclaimer: all of my concerts have been in a city relatively close (2+ hrs away) to mine where I'd been before just to put that into perspective

My problem is that everyone will be speaking French and my French isn't good enough to sustain a conversation for a long length of time like in the queue. Nobody will want to make friends with the foreigner so I suspect I will be properly alone for the duration of the concert. If I was in an English speaking country, I could make friends like y'all suggested though and going alone wouldn't be a big problem.

I've gone to see Britney, Selena, Taylor, and Carly alone. I had so much fun at Selena and Carly because I was standing and it's so easy to meet peoplr that way, while Taylor and Britney were pretty awkward since no one seated wants to talk or anything. I highly recommend standing if you're going alone!
