We have a serious problem with discrimination against Asians (especially of colour, religious backgrounds) and have done for a very long time. Brexit has only made matters worse. It's like these racists think it's now acceptable to be such vile members of society because of a referendum result. Makes me sick, sad and really angry

Disgusting, and just yesterday a Muslim Taxi driver refused to let a disabled person travel in his taxi for religious reasons.

Both sides need to get over themselves and learn to respect the British laws, values and beliefs of equality and rights for all etc.

What was this about? I don't know any rules in Islam that wouldn't allow this.

Islam advises that Muslims shall not keep pet dogs if it's not to hunt or means of guarding.

Clearly the two taxi drivers who were investigated used their religion as an excuse.

Most drivers don't want a dog in their car but the law states they can't deny or charge extra for a disabled passenger with a dog under the discrimination and equality acts.

Both have since been sacked and the law is now enforced and noted clearly during training.

Are you seriously comparing abuse and causing a black eye to refusing service to a costumer? Im sick of these muslims that are painting the rest of us in a horrid image. Ok he was wrong to refuse service. But that does not justify the abuse we are getting. The image of islam has been that of terror. How islam a radical reigion and the cause of all the evil in the world. When even muslims are under attack Almadina the holy mosque was just attacked by ISIS, no muslim would bomb the mosque of the prophet.

No. Getting beat up is obviously worse but hatred does always spur more hatred. The fact both involved Muslim taxi drivers and I only read the other story yesterday could mean that someone attacked this innocent Muslim taxi driver out of hatred and anger created by what happened to the disabled man because of a different intolerant Muslim taxi driver.

People here calling the UK 'racist' need to remember that it isn't one sided and there are intolerant Muslims and non-Muslims. I'm not going to call all Muslims intolerant because of what happened to the disabled man so don't call all non Muslim British people racist because of one or a few intolerants especially considering both cases will be handled accordingly and fairly by the police and court systems
