They're Jehovah's Witnesses though. Do you really care what they think? All the better if they see you not answer. Then they know you're not interested.

They once rang by bell and I told them I wasn't religious and they insisted a bit so I pointed out that they're homophobic and that they don't do anything useful for society and that's when they left.

I usually don't answer the door if for any uninvited solicitor, but if I do mistakenly answer or get caught outside ( ), I'll just say thanks, but I'm not interested as politely as possible and close the door. I don't get why some people act like they are scared to just tell people no. I don't have the time or patience to humor something I know good and well I have zero interest in to appease strangers. I don't owe you **** -- bye!

If you're not really interested then why lie? Just tell them straight you're not interested. They won't force you. If you show a little bit of interest then they will probably keep coming back. You're a grown up person so i suppose you know how to solve this champagne problem. /endthread

My cousin is a Witness and while it's not annoying now, it certainly was during her first few years when she converted. Anywho, if I ever get them at my doorsteps, I usually just tell them that fact and then they ask which congregation my cousin is apart of and that's that and they leave me alone.

One time me and my best friend were travelling by train and we ended sitting next to one on the train

We did not know she was one at the beginning, she was very nice and talked about normal stuff to us, and then she started with those ridiculous stories about how she had to attend a wedding and had nothing to wear and then she recieved a holy message from Jehovah that everything will be ok and after 1 hour a friend came to her house and gave her some clothes she didn't want anymore

We did our best no to burst out laughing but made eye contact and I think she noticed and she then said she wants to sleep. After she fell asleep we left looking for other seats in the train lol

Can someone explain what they do/say?

In France they are banned because they are considered as a sect. If one of them come at your door they can go in jail.
