Does anyone find exaggerated happy people annoying?
There are so many of these individuals at my job that are like that. But what i do i play along with them and then i often throw quick shade at them. The shade isnt like a side jab its a full out punch to the gut. But i smile so hard when i throw the shade they cant help but to laugh it off. The atmosphere coming off from those people are really fake.
There's this girl in my course who literally speaks with a smile plastered 24/7 on her face. Once we were having a conversation with her and she said she played badminton and we said we did too and she answered "OH MY GODDDDD, NO WAYYYYYY THATS SO AMAZING!?"
me and my friends literally had to excuse ourselves so we could crack up laughing, we felt so bad

Yeah. I think most people who aren't themselves that kind of person are annoyed by that personality type.
It just comes across as fake, as try-hard, and as borderline rude if it's someone who has problems picking up on social and environmental cues indicating how to act in a situation.
I mean, I'm guilty of basing this all off a few people - one in particular - that I know personally and can't stand at all.

One of my best friends is like this. Everyone knows him to be happy, kind and delicate like a daisy but in reality he can be very self-centered and selfish. It is annoying because I know him and people see him as something different but I guess it's his way to deflect his insecurities away
I kinda regret making this thread and take everything back. Honestly what is wrong with being happy? Atleast they are not out there claiming to one day kill themselves because their lives are too miserable. You people are sick picking on people that are happier than you. Some of yall need a happy meal real quick!
No, if someone wants to be happy let them. Not everyone is miserable Even if it's not completely authenitc, fake it till you make it. People that are 100% themselves are usually bitches anyways
It can be, because they can seem fake and never take anything seriously, even if I need them to be serious. Also it's really hard to match their energy levels, I always feel tired after interacting with them.
But it's kind of cute in low doses, and sometimes their optimism is inspiring
I think it's more or less the fake happiness when people act like they're happy and cheerful but they really are just playing a role to mask them being miserable people…
I'm generally a nice person, so I really can't help it. But, I'm not psychotic enough to hide how I truly feel with people I confide in.
Even if it's not completely authenitc, fake it till you make it. People that are 100% themselves are usually bitches anyways
