I have a MacBook Pro rn, have had it for 2 years and it still works like a dream, nothing wrong with it at all. But I can afford to buy a new one and give my Pro to my brother or something. Is the MacBook in any way inferior to the MacBook Pro? Will I regret it? It's not a downgrade, is it?

MacBook Pro > MacBook. However, the latter isn't that weak, but it's definitely a huge downgrade.

If I were you I'd buy an Air if I can't get a Pro atm. No retina display but still more efficient than the MacBook.

Basically the money is like a bursary that my uni gave me and I still have enough left to buy something. I'm at the end of my final year now so if I don't spend it then the uni just takes the money back, so I might as well make use of it.
