Discussion: Why ATRL hates diversity?

It doesn't surprise me anymore that whenever a thread about diversity pops up, it's mostly filled with two negative reactions:

1) "SJW are so annoying, I can't wait until this PC Tumblr fad is over!"

2) "Black people are always complaining, they are bigots and highly homophobic" or "Black people need to calm down, I am a (non-black POC) and you don't see us complaining about this"

Why is it so bad to call out for the lack of diversity in the media, politics, education, etc?
Why when black people called out the Oscars, most people were just saying that black actors weren't talented enough?
Hell, why is it so hard for the ATRL to grasp the concept of a gender neutral bathroom or gender neutral pronouns?

So tell me, ATRL, what is it so bad about diversity?
What do you have to lose?

The first comment usually only happens when people take things to extremes (although there are a few conservative members here who do that when it's not exactly necessary.)

With the second one, I usually see that on threads regarding black twitter, and this new wave of online social justice which, in a lot of cases, misses the point. It tends to look at the fine detail of the issues rather than the picture at large.

And alternatively, some people really are just racist.

Well for the Oscars thing it annoyed me because "diversity" really just meant "black people". Nobody seems to care that even though Hispanics make up 18% of the population (more than African Americans), no Hispanic-American actor has won an Oscar since 1991.

When JT was getting dragged or any other online disturbance occurs, those people tell the people complaining that they should stop worrying about little things and get out into the real world and tackle "actual" problems.

When they do that, as seen with the recent BLM protest of Toronto Pride, they're still mad. Literally what do they think taking action in the real world looks like? That it was going to be respectable, out of the way and not make them feel uncomfortable?

The issue people have is with the point of view, nothing else.

The left is in shambles and is extremely divided, which is part of the reason why things like Trump and Brexit have been allowed to happen. Liberals are too busy attacking each other instead of focusing on the real enemies

Although I don't really see how condemning some BLM activists who use Westboro Baptish Church-esque tactics means that you "hate diversity". Kinda sounds like you're just trying to deflect criticisms of your views/beliefs by calling people racist (another reason the left is falling apart)

In order for Atrl to be more diverse, you would need to respect the people who make those comments, not ridicule them for it. They think differently than you do...isn't that what you want?

I'm sorry but other POCs need to speak up aswell. It's not the job of the Black community to speak up for every POC. It's hard enough alone for us to get our voices heard when we are told to "stop complaining" or "go back to Africa if you don't like it".
