I feel like this is extra. We gays should let the straights have their space. It's not like there aren't gay dating websites/apps out there. If the provider of the dating service doesn't believe in homosexual relationships (even though they're wrong) then so be it.

It's not that I don't accept progress. Obviously it would be ideal for these kinds of websites to include gay dating options, but I just don't think forcing the dating services to provide them is the way to go. That's not going to fix the broader issue of homophobia. In fact, it probably creates more opposition to all aspects of the LGBT movement, so it hurts us more than it helps us.

What does it solve though? I'm sure there are Christian dating websites that include gay dating options without being forced to - or there at least might be dating websites that have filters to help gay singles find Christian partners. It's not going to change the provider's stance on homosexual relationships and it's not going to make some straight Christians hate gays any less.

The point isn't to change anyone's stance on gay relationships, it's to not let a service discriminate against gay people and refuse them membership on their site. Sure, I'm sure there are other Christian dating services that are more LGB-friendly but that's irrelevant--discrimination is discrimination.

Just out of curiosity, is the title of your book ironic or are you legitimately questioning why gays are unsatisfied with how they're treated despite the ruling on same-sex marriage?

I get that, and in a perfect world Christian sites would be inclusive of Christians seeking homosexual relationships, but I just don't think this is the right way to go about it. I don't think forcing a few sites to include gay dating options is worth fueling greater aggression toward the LGBT movement when there's other dating sites that Christian gay singles can use.
