Apple won't pay 150 million for the worst streaming service on this planet. They could spend 150 million on promotion and get more subscribers from that than from Tidal

If this happens, what if the music from iTunes bought will be AIFF (Apple Lossless, similar to FLAC)? I would be legit slayed

They're not greedy they're competitive and that's good. Buying Tidal would allow our faves to finally suceed (Rih, Madonna, Bey, Drake, Kanye , etc...)

Jay Z wont do it unless if Apple gives them a really good deal . A big part of Tidal had to do with the artists ego's and them wanting to be ones specifically in control and not be under some big label.

Apple could give them a lot IF they let them have Beyonce, Jay Z , Kanye West, Coldplay, and Rihanna exclusives. Plus the Prince catalogue .Apple has money to throw around wouldn't be surprised if they went unexpectedly high for all that and got it.

Honestly, I think they would. The amount of Goodwill Tidal has in the value of their "exclusives" contract must be huge. I mean Bey, Rih and Kanye alone... If they buy Tidal, they're not just buying out a potential competitor, its adding so much value to Apple Music that it'd be much easier for them to overtake Spotify and dominate streaming.

Tidal's demo is heavily urban music fans with big exclusive from urban acts.
apple also have big urban fans following with recent exclusive with rappers. (I heard it's their target market)
I'm sure they want tidal's exclusive and big urban demo.

also Tidal is very US based service now , like over 90% users are from US.
so looking at apple's 9m(US) vs Tidal's like 3.5~4m(US), it's great move to gain that much in short term.
I mean it's all about spotify vs apple and apple needs more exclusives and contents.

the tricky thing is no artists and exclusives are 'signed' for tidal. tidal is for artist and by artist.
all those artists can take their music or exclusive off from tidal If they want. there's no such contract..
so even If apple bought tidal, beyonce, kanye and anyone can take their music off and say no exclusive.

That could theoretically destroy Spotify, here for it.
