I get that for some people Kpop is just manifactured, but in reality a lot of groups including: 5Harmony, One Direction, Spice Girls, Destiny's Child, and many other groups are as manifactured than Kpop groups.
Take for instance a groups in Korea like BIGBANG:
who since their debut wrote or co-wrote all their songs (with only in house producers and songwriters, korean producers & songwriters from the same company than them), where all 5 members have their own very successful solo careers but still stay in their group even when their contract is in the verge of being expired.
Or a Group like EXID:
With their rapper LE (far left) wrote solely 90% of their discography just like Beyonce did with Destiny's Child.
Then you have groups like MAMAMOO
Where the members were friends (2 of them know each other since they were 5 years old, they met each other in their company and were friends, their company decided to debut them despite having no visual appeal for Korean standard but could SING).
But they can perform like very well and have an appeal to people who actually knows nothing about KPOP
Exhibit with BTS for a sport events:
And let's not start with they're so local, it's like saying Tal or Shy'm (french singers) are local.
Plus there are some act like Eric Nam who was contacted by a US label to collaborate with KOLAJ and launch his WW career
And the touring, for example BIGBANG last tour did a couple of dates in the US and their receipts are impressive:
Staples Center - Los Angeles, California - 13,361 / 13,535 (99%)- $1,715,587
Prudential Center- Newark, New Jersey- 21,903 (91%)- $3,397,699
Off course these are not the only groups that write/produce and can perform I could have name a lot more.
Yes company scout their act at young age, but in plus to have school, they learn to dance, sing, act, produce, write, compose. Let's be real if you wanted to go on a school and be taught to sing, act, dance, wouldn't you sign?
So yeah both are just pop music entertaining and fun... Move on with the fake complaints.
pop fans don't want to step outside their comfort zone or take a risk with getting into KPOP so they only stick with that they know and try to put down what they can't understand

And if they only tried to listen they'd realize K-Pop offer exactly the sound they're dying for from american pop, full-on pop bops
Every person dreading this new alternative-pop, less is more kind of trend in american pop refusing to dive into K-Pop is so stupid
since they been outselling western act with $20 album prices
EDIT: Plus some of them been entering the Billboard 200 recently. So they are becoming relevant with sold out tours in the U.S. with ALL races, not just Asians
