A range that I consider among the greatest, old and new:
Whitney Houston
Mariah Carey
Aretha Franklin
Tina Turner
Céline Dion
Diana Ross
Etta James
Stevie Nicks
Billie Holiday
Gladys Knight
Dionne Warwick
Janis Joplin
Nina Simone
Shania Twain
Annie Lennox
Linda Ronstadt
Carrie Underwood
Barbra Streisand
Ella Fitzgerald
Joni Mitchell
Dusty Springfield
Donna Summer
Kate Bush
Beyoncé
Adele
Christina Aguilera
Lady Gaga
Shakira
Amy Winehouse
Pink
Kelly Clarkson
Although I like Taylor and love Katy, I strongly disagree with their placing.
Tina Turner, Amy, Lady Gaga and several others , should rank higher than them
Wow this list is extremely inaccurate. Based on vocals alone it should be something like:
1. Whitney Houston
2. Mariah Carey
3. Barbara Streisand
4. Beyoncé
5. Aretha Franklin
6. Patti Labelle
7. Céline Dion
8. Lady Gaga
9. Jojo
10. Sara Bareilles
Adele has bad belting technique and a limited range, so she shouldn't be included even though the GP seems to think she's the greatest vocalist of our time.
Taylor is just a terrible vocalist, so I don't know how she managed to slither her way into the top ten.
Katy is a better vocalist than Taylor, but she still doesn't belong anywhere near this list.
Christina has a wide range and lots of potential, but her technique is not good, so she can't be on the list either.
Amy Lee has some good moments, but she's overrated so top ten is a reach.
