The song just fizzled out because it simply wasn't a good enough song to lead off an entire era with. Has it reached 4M sales yet?

Firework, WRWWR and Raise Your Glass didnt explicitely reference LGBT people, Gaga did.
again i like Hello, i think it's a nice ballad but piano ballads become hits all the time (Someone Like You, Say Something, Stay, 7 Years, Lost Boy etc)
I swear she performed it a hundred times.
