Iron from plants has a lower bioavailability than iron from animal products, so people on a plant based diet may need to eat more, though iron deficiency is more common in meat eaters than vegans. Vegans (and vegetarians) can get their iron from black beans, chickpeas, lentils, soybeans, aduki beans, tofu, temple, barley, quinoa, veggie meat substitutes, almonds, cashews, flaxseed, hazelnuts, pine nuts, pumpkin seeds, apricots, blackstrap molasses and a bunch of other sources.
Eating foods high in Vitamin C act the same time help your body increase its absorption of iron. Remember too that dairy, which has very little iron, can actually prevent iron absorption - research demonstrates that consuming cows' milk or cheese can decrease iron absorption from a meal by up to 50%.
Hope that helps, feel free to shoot me a message if you have any more questions!
