So I don't think you'll get too many streaming services on board with your deal.. :/

Sure, I would if my label agreed. Money won't mean anything to me beyond the first couple of millions which I sure would end up getting if I "were famous".

lI'd be happier actually if it was exclusive on iTunes, because iTunes means a lot to me I don't care about streaming services, and I'd love to see my songs do well on the iTunes Charts, or even possibly top it. Plus most of the money will probably go to my boyfriend or husband anyway, because I love him

The thing is, I'm a songwriter, producer, and singer, and there's a good chance I'd do it all alone without a record label, so I'd be getting all the money. And I don't care if they agree lol, They can all decline my offer, I don't want my music there, but the only chance of it reaching those services is if they agree to those terms.

It's not about money. Like Taylor, I'm doing this for the less fortunate, those who deserved to be paid full prices for their masterpieces :heart: Maybe I won't add my music unless they pay everyone $1.29 per steam, maybe then they would listen! And I'll start doing this from the first single I ever make, it's not even about the money, I could care less about money to be honest, it's about my love for iTunes, I grew up with it and loved it, and want others to expirence the same love for it that I did. iTunes continues to be the future of music in an ideal world. And I will do my best to make it the future.

I make actual music and it's all streaming only. I even put download links on everything. I think music should be enjoyed by as many people as possible, but I don't do it for a living so I have no reason to charge

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read... $1.29 is a ONE time purchase. An artist should not get $129 if a song is streamed 100 times. (not to mention the fact that as has already been mentioned, artists actually get only a small fraction of that after apple, the label, and whoever else take their cuts.)

Artists should get more than they get for streaming, but not that as much as they would get for a purchase of the song each time it's played. That's ridiculous and would make absolutely no sense for streaming services to even exist. They wouldn't be profitable, they would be losing millions of dollars just for existing.

It wouldn't be up to me...it'd be up to my label.

Hypothetically speaking, though, if I had a say, I'd let my music be put on streaming services. I'd by getting my share seeing as I'd write my own music, and I really wouldn't care about the people behind the scenes. Maybe they should get a different profession if they want millions.

EDIT: $1.29 PER STREAM is a stupid amount, by the way. You don't even get that good of rates for an iTunes purchase. It's $1.29 to listen to it as many times as you'd like, and that's assuming you didn't get it on discount. MAYBE if streaming services made you pay $1.29 to stream that song indefinitely, but like...if you pay that much to stream it, well...you may as well just go to iTunes...

EDIT2: Apple also takes a cut of the profit. You'd want to go somewhere like CD Baby if you don't want 3rd party businesses taking "the less fortunate people's" money.

Music is my life, it means the world to me, and I want to do it full time. I deserve to be paid for my art. If you aren't willing to pay for my art, you don't deserve to own it. I'm not giving away all of my lifelong dreams for free. That music is very special to me. If it means anything to them, then they can purchase my music on iTunes to show support.

I'd be ok with that. If they charged $1.29 for their users to download it, and those downloads counted twoards the iTunes and Billboard charts, then I would accept it.

Oh Jesus. Rose, think of your less fortunate fans who can't pay 14.99 for your albums. You'd want them to enjoy your work without turning to illegal downloading, wouldn't you?
