Not her best performance execution wise and her vocals were a bit dry during the chorus and lead up, but the staging was incredible and kendrick killed it.
Next Single please. This song deserves a choreo filled music video.

Ok, I love Bey and all, but it wasn't like she was serving this glorified vocal and its not like no one has heard the song and understands the message. I felt she could have done more on stage. I mean, when you remove the water, what's left? But let's agree to disagree.

But Forward is a song that needs to be SANG. It's not a Single Ladies or Crazy in Love verse or whatever.

I loved the performance. I feel like we as the Hive aren't as impressed because we've seen this on tour 20000 times. Also she's obviously tired, she has FWT, Father's Day, Solo's Bday, rehearsals, trying to find time to spend with Blue and a show the next day. Yes, I would have preferred wilder vocals and more moving from her but given the circumstances it was still one of the top 3 performances of the night, and the best one that was not a tribute. I'm happy she did this also because I never got the chance to see her on tour so this was a cute little snippet. Sometimes we expect way too much, she is human when all is said and done!

Yeah, I don't think Hive are dragging the performance, just saying its not up to her usual standards delivery wise. Lets just call a spade, a spade. Its was still very good.

But how is it not up to her usual standards? A few of the runs I didn't like, but overall it was great. I think we want her to be constantly dancing, but if you think about the lyrics of the song, "Freedom! Freedom! I can't move Freedom, cut me loose!", it makes sense that she would remain rather still at the beginning, heightening that feeling of being in chains until the end when she fully gives it with her dancers and is "free".

The narrative may make sense in your head but does it translate? Too me her stillness felt awkward when she wasn't singing but was just standing still bopping her head whilst the dancers were going off. Maybe should enact being confined and restricted in a more elaborate manor. She also doesn't seem in sync during the dance break at the end, right before kendrick's part. People are just being critical, it doesn't have to be a negative thing. Most are saying they enjoyed the performance but not every sentiment has to be praise.

"but it wasn't like she was serving this glorified vocal"- I didn't know I implied this..
" its not like no one has heard the song and understands the message." - Yeah, maybe no one here; the same cannot be said for her industry peers or the GP watching at home..I got what she was doing ..her diction during the verses were almost "punchy" ..like she were literally shoving them down your throat..it was important to her that people didn't just see the spectacle she was creating, but also hearing and FEELING those lyrics..it wasn't supposed to be a glorified vocal showboat like most were probably expecting..
"but let's agree to disagree" - kew.. I understand

I don't think she needs to be that overt with it.
The stillness was not awkward at all to me. I noticed it, but it felt like she was holding it back for a reason.

Finally watched it and it wasn't very captivating as she wanted it to be. She looked bored herself.
Freedom was a standout when the album first dropped but it's gotten to be one of the most exhausting songs on the album.

Ya, she looked really bored when she was freaking out with Kendrick, kicking water, making crazy expressions and generally letting it all out.

This is literally how she performs it on tour. She stands there during the performance. And like I said in another thread, dancing in a mini pool of water requires a lot of stamina - so much that she probably would have to have lip synced in order for her to go off throughout the whole performance. The dancers were huffing and puffing leaving the stage after this bit during the tour.

Nitpicking isn't really a critique to me.

This performance is legendary. It was raw, it was intense, it was real. It wasn't meant to be perfect. It was honestly, "Grammy worthy." But, it wasn't only the performance - it was the timing.
The performance set the tone for the rest of the 2016 BET Awards - the same awards that had the magnificent Prince tribute & introduced new "Black Live Matters" star, Jesse Owens.
Also, doing it on the BET Awards, in hindsight, is better. She shifted the viewpoint of BET in one night - reaffirming her power in the industry.

Hmm. I don't think she's done this amount of dancing with such a vocally intensive song though. Yes, she's danced harder, and she's sang better, but she's never done both combined like this.
Usually she dances to her uptempos where she's singing more stacco and can take a breath in between more words and/or leave the chorus to the Mama's. Here, she literally had to sing every word, verses and chorus included. Especially since the chorus has the strongest message.
If you notice, when she sings Love On Top, another uptempo with breathy vocals, she doesn't do the choreography. And if she does, it's a cute kick here and there.
It's one thing to criticize, but I think you guys are doing a bit much.
