The difference is that Alololololomola was a Gen 5 mon and it was purely Gen 5 availability pre-e4 in gen V. If it was intended to be an evolution, that would be the explanation for why it wasn't.

Gen 7 has old Pokemon in it, so it's a completely different circumstance.

i mean the pre-release hype. This might b the scenario where a lot of ppl think Dunsparce -> the new dragon, but we could b fooled by their design. even if they look similar i don't think it means they are closely related. givin me a Luvdisc -> Alomomola tea cos a lot of ppl thot the same when Queen Alo was released in the trailer in 2010. I dun think we knew at that point that G V/Unova would be Gen V Pkmn-exclusive till the league, so a lot of ppl thot Luv > Alo was valid. I am hoping I am wrong a/t Dunsparce + New dragon cos I like the new dragon and Dunsparce is dead in ma book w/o an evo
