this is revolting
well in that case anyone could say 'i'm not funding that'. a sexist could say they'd deny funding to a rape victim. a homophobe could deny funding to a homosexual that suffered a hate crime. a racist could deny a poc help, smokers get cancer all the time and they still get help. drunk drivers cause accidents and doctors still save their lives etc. this is not how it works or should ever work.
obesity is a very complex problem. various studies have shown that obese people have usually suffered some form of trauma whether that be rape, bullying, domestic violence, etc. so it's often a dealing mechanism for that and most people don't even know it.
secondly, the food industry is poisoning us with all sorts of ****** food and ingredients. almost nobody has an actual education or basic knowledge of nutrition. people don't know the nature of the trap and they can't fight it if they don't.
poor people are also a high risk group, why? because the unhealthiest foods are also the cheapest + they're high in calories/fat so they keep them satiated. I can buy a 1000 calorie pizza for less than a bag of 300 calorie vegetables.
telling obese people to 'just eat less' is not going to help or heal them. it's just going to **** them up more. obese people need more calories because they're carrying much more weight. imagine putting on a 60kg backpack and carrying it around all day. your body would burn a huge amount of calories and you'd need to eat more too.
what obese people need is help from nutritional experts that can help them lose weight in a sustainable way.
i don't like to talk about my obesity because even though i've lost all the weight it still hurts very much reading those comments. When I was overweight people would openly laugh at me on the street, point at me and laugh. i've been called a fat pig and gorilla by people on the street and people just don't understand what that's like.
when I turned 18 i started to rapidly gain weight and no doctor could find the problem (and most of them didn't care either - they didn't want to help me). It continued on until I gained over 50kg and was 103kg (i'm female, 5'2). I couldn't help myself and nobody else could help me either. I heard the whole 'just eat less' so many times, it doesn't work. there were days I ate less than 800cals, days where I blacked out because I didn't eat enough. And I still kept gaining weight. Eating less is just going to deny the body nutrients and minerals it needs, you can't heal without that.
I got depressed, lost all of my friends, stopped going to university. My whole life changed and it was a very, very hard fight to get back to where i was.
I get that you're trying to troll but consider what you're saying and how you could seriously hurt people with those words.
