When I was like 8 I had to go to school, but I wouldn't wake up because I was too tired. My parents tried a bunch of things to wake me up, and eventually played a song they found called Wake Up by Hillary Duff. After like a minute I finally woke up. Then I bought the song on iTunes a few days later because it was a bop.

What's the weirdest way you discovered an artist?

Kylie Minogue. her music always plays at Macy's, Marshalls, Ross, Tj Maxx etc. so I just looked up one of her songs so I can find out who was making all of these bops. QUEEN OF RETAIL STORES

I discovered Charli XCX because in 2014 i read somewhere that some random song predicted Cant Remember To Forget You's release.

Jpanese rapper: Beyond

I was a weeaboo ever since the age of 2. i discovered korean music in high school and later on korean rap music last year. Since my love for japan has come back, i started searching for japanese rap music and ended up finding a complex list of japanese rappers. I found one whose name was Dekishi and i like his songs so i bought his album. On one track he had 3 other japanese artist feautred and one of them was named Beyond. He had a really unique way of rapping so i tried to search him up but nothing ever came up. eventually i went on twitter and twitter in another rapper who was featured on the song (Ritzzz) and i found a tweet about Ritzzz and Beyond doing a song on soundcloud and on that sound cloud had Beyond's twitter and from there i was able to find more of his music.

I discovered a ton of artists through the FIFA games, including Two Door Cinema Club

I discovered Halsey on an amtaeur P0rn video, some twinks were doing the goods while listenning to New Americana

I discovered Lights because they played her music video in the theatres.
And I discovered Ellie Goulding because Fifth Harmony covered her song on X Factor.

EDIT - Oh, and I discovered Andrew Belle because my yoga instructor was playing music and 'I Won't Fight It (Hushed)' was on the playlist.
And I discovered a rock-metal band called Senses Fail because it was on Tap Tap Revolution.

I'll never forget, in 2011 I was so fascinated by Rebecca Black and I was waiting for her follow-up to Friday. Obviously since there were so many people trolling her, there were fake videos claiming to be her next single and I fell for one of them Anyway, the song was River by LIGHTS and I loved it. After I found out it was another artist, I listened to all of LIGHTS' music and liked her on Facebook, and one of my good friends saw and told me she stanned her. Then when Siberia was released and she came on tour near us that fall, we went together and it was the best concert. So thanks Queen Rebecca
