If Andrea does manage to get it, I don't want a general election because I'd have to vote for Jeremy

Theresa May is now the favourite to be Prime Minister/Tory Leader.
Come through, Queen!

Really? No way are Labour ready for government. I'd have trouble voting for a Tory other than Andrea, though.

Andrea is apparently waiting to see if Boris offers her Chancellor before she decides to run. There are some Brexit MPs worried about Boris and willing to back her if she runs, but they'll back Boris if she gets Chancellor.
Gove will also be given a very high role in Boris' Cabinet.

I can't believe that in an election where Labour should easily walk into power due to Tory turmoil it's not unlikely that the party will split and both halves collapse to assault from UKIP.
Wonder how quickly Scotland will leave the UK if Westminster is governed by the Tories with opposition from UKIP...

Yass Renzi, Yass Merkel. This is the kind of talk I want to hear. Europe needs leaders like this, so the rest of Europe remains!!!
"Writing in the Daily Telegraph on Monday, Johnson, the former London mayor and leading Brexit campaigner, had suggested the UK might “take back democratic control of immigration” while continuing to enjoy free market access. Merkel’s comments – echoed on Tuesday by Italy’s prime minister, Matteo Renzi – made it clear this would not happen.
“Whoever wants to leave this family cannot expect to shed all its responsibilities but keep the privileges,” Merkel said. “Those, for example, who want free access to the single market will in return have to respect European basic rights and freedoms ... that’s true for Great Britain just as much as for the others.”
Merkel said the UK could enjoy access to the single market only if it accepted the “four basic European freedoms – that of people, goods, services and capital”.

We're not having full access to the single market. We'll negotiate our own deal that gives us limited access while retaining control over immigration, sort of like Canada. I'm pretty confident of that.

Problem. The UK can't have deal they want without respecting the basic rules. How do call that in chess? Checkmate?

Everybody has to follow EU rules when trading with the EU, that's nothing new.

But I'm guessing that the EU will say NO to the inclusion of financial services in the trade deal WITHOUT the free movement of people. The British economy would be ****ed if their banks were denied access to the single market, no?

Well we have no clue what will come out of negotiations yet. It's not in the EU's interest to completely lock us out either, so it's not as if they have every upper hand.
