Well, this is a nice treat!
Millionaire was the third single from Tasty and the success train powered through here. Top 3 in the UK, Top 10 in Ireland and charting alright in the rest of the world. Pair that with the fact it was released almost a year after the album and it's a big success imo. The video tho... well they got kids to play the roles in this one and it's just pretty standard. And that lipsync is not on point.
The song itself is a much better affair. I mean, André 3000 and Kelis? Sign me up. It lacks a certain punch to me personally, but it's a great track regardless. They bounce off of each other well and it works as a whole. Kelis verse could've been sold a little better, but her bridge is pretty amazing and one of my favourite Kelis moments. Such an earworm and just euphoric with that track and just following Andre's rap. This track was winning for part of the rate but unfortunately it has to sit out at #3 now.
Diarrhoea is on the same page as me, "This song is the aural equivalent of being so close to orgasm but never quite getting there."
Doogle hated it but repented since then, "I never liked this song until more recent years and now I can't work out what I didn't like about it."
Eeveelution talks about choosing this as her 11, "Ahhh, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind this was gonna be my 11. I feel like this smashed here because I def remember hearing it growing up, listening to this makes me feel really nostalgic for some reason, so maybe that's why. This song is also really special in that it's one of the few tracks where I love both the main artist and the feature. André's parts are excellent and Kelis has never sounded better."
