If you follow a religion for it's core values, but their stance on gays isn't 100% what you think it should be, I don't think there's anything wrong with still following that religion's core values and praying about other aspects. Like I said, the Catholic Church (for example) has already made a lot of progress regarding their acceptance of gays, and I think it's only going to get better.

Because they don't have the strength to accept that there's nothing after death tbh. They don't care about the anti-gay parts, especially since now that society has accepted gays, religion has followed for the most part. Most christians don't hate gays anymore.

Religion is all about believing there's something more to existence, even though there isn't.

There is no agreement on the Bible's stance on homosexuality within the Christian community. During the time period the Bible was written, there was no concept of sexual orientation. What was being condemned was different forms of cult prostitution and exploitative homosexual acts. The Bible doesn't directly speak to modern day gay relationships.

religion is not a strict set of rules you have to follow. christianity is founded on the bible but the bible was written many years ago by humans who could've written and manipulated anything into it. the only thing that stands true to me is that God is love and that I should not judge others (except for murderers, rapists and pedophiles

). the rest doesn't interest me because it's been twisted in the vilest of ways by humans in order to hurt other humans.

the bible mentions nothing of this it is a complete self interpretation that was later translated as fact

IMO, a relationship between yourself and God is personal and nothing should ever come between you. God made you this way, He loves you for who you are. All these hating ass books and bitter homophobes cannot dictate how God feels about you. At the end of the day, He will judge you.

It's been a while since I've typed up anything religious since I feel so conflicted with religion spreading hate. But yeah

I believe in God but I don't believe everything that stands in the bible. And if being gay is a sin, the bible states that if you love God and worshipped him, He'll forgive ALL sins. So to me, that means God will forgive people that are gay. But I still think God created gay people and He doesn't think it's a sin. The bible was written by people like me and you, not by God. What do they know what God thinks?
