regarding pre-ordering, i will never understand why people pre-order digital albums. like, i find it pointless
but pre-ordering physicals is a different story. its worth it because they run out so fast then you'll have to wait like weeks before they re-ship (depending on what website)

They want to make sure they have it when it comes out, and they don't want to forget. And if they know they're going to buy the album anyway, they'll just preorder it when it's availible. Also, I think that sometimes if you preorder an album you get to listen to it or some of the songs on it early.
