This song has such a charm to it. It isn't epically catchy or intricately detailed or with some grand deeper meaning, it's just a cute bop. Don't lie, you all tried to recreate her little moan on the chorus. The production is so simplistic compared to the songs that would follow and the melody is pretty normal, but this is just a fun track. As the first actual song in her discography, I find this a fitting intro the the legend that is Kelis: fun and light, but oozing in some charm that elevates it beyond her peers. Kelis has personality on here, from the 'yeah rights' to the inflection, and you can't buy that.
Released as the second single from Kaleidoscope, Good Stuff's only notable charting was Top 20 in the UK, which was more of a home than anywhere for Legend K. It completely failed to chart in the US, starting a common trend for Keis singles. The video for this track is very cute and very Kelis. Having a sexy fun party and going roller skating while looking pretty bomb. That said she kinda stole the video concept from Roller Rink here.
Diarrhoea thinks it's only ok, "I like the vocal riff thing she's got going on, but the final chorus doesn't have it at first and it really exposes how the chorus is kinda weak." We all like the vocal riff.
HonourableVomit is more interested in the bass, "that bass line is iconic. Should've been a massive hit." Every Kelis song should've but alas.
Latinazza is one of many charmed by Kelis's good stuff, "this **** is so damn good."
