The BBC had the right to regulate themselves removed recently (BBC Trust) and will now answer to OFCOM after being found guilty of news bias etc. This news following so soon after, poor BBC.
Scrap the licence fee tbh.
I live in a country with basically almost no "public broadcasting". And in a recent study we were named one of the most ignorant countries. Many places in the world look on in envy at the BBC and what you have. It's not that great without it as you think.

BBC give us amazing documentaries etc and the quality is top notch, but if their (extremely impactful) news output has been found to be consistently biased, why should every household be forced under threat of prosecution to pay the £150 a year. They have a commercial arm (BBC Worldwide) that brings in plenty of coin by selling programme formats to other countries etc.
This petition was originally made by a Leave voter, a month before the actual voting in order to protect the Leaves because they didn't think they were going to win.
