all of the sudden DailyMail cares about union... anyway I think they are lying, EU would LOVE to see, or just simply wouldn't care if UK falls apart

kii. Probably false, but oh well.
Nicola is on Andrew Marr, let's see if she comments.
Also, apparently half of the shadow cabinet is gonna resign.

That's like 10% of the voter turnout.
It's easily become the biggest petition of all time in the UK, beating all others by over 3x
That is HUGE. Such a shame nothing will happen, but it just goes to show, the people do not want Brexit
They should not be allowed to make such a huge drastic stupid decision based on a 50/50 (almost) split.
The country is divided, you can't make a decision for all of us, based on the views of half of us.
Especially when those votes came from over 50's who won't even be alive that long
|
Or that 18.6% of Remain voters can't take no for an answer
I strongly agree that a second referendum wouldn't be a good idea, the result aside.

Poll puts support for Scottish independence at 59%
NEARLY six out of 10 Scots say they’d vote Yes in a second independence referendum.
In a clear reflection of the growing backlash north of the Border to Thursday’s Brexit result, a ScotPulse online survey of 1,600 Scottish adults on Friday (24 June) showed that 59% of Scots now back leaving the UK.

Gove's said before that he doesn't want to do it and he's (unfairly) reviled amongst the population so I don't think it's likely.

Looks like we definitely can't trust her then This is going to be really messy no matter who becomes PM.

Because that's democracy I suppose
Sajid Javid/Mark Carney are downplaying it and European leaders are being sympathetic to us, I think everyone needs to start calming down a tad.

Well half of the polls weren't too accurate in the referendum
Also this was taken the day of the result, when the pound plummeted, Cameron quit etc., they were probably just angry and confused at us leaving. The figure would be significantly less when it comes to the actual Indie referendum I think.

Yeah, Nicola knows it'll get bogged down in most of the same issues as before and the economic argument is much worse so she won't call a referendum until the polls consistently show high polls.

Nazism has always been mainly local to the mainland sis, let's not. Trivialises what happened to Jewish people tbh. This is just a referendum that was kinda close, we are hardly emulating Auschwitz.

in a way, but don't forget that in the weeks before referendum pretty much all polls showed brexit wining, so in away...
listen Scottish ppl have stayed just bcs of the EU, just bcs they were told they will NEVER again be ruled by Englad, that changed... now instead Brussels they are again under Englands boot, and they don't want that
anyway, hopefully UK will be out soon, and then it can deal with it's own union problems

Not all 17+ million that voted leave are 'old racists', and that is how democracy works, whether some of us like it or not. The 2015 Gen Election result was much more unfair and there was little backlash in comparison (even if it wasn't as important).
If most people in the country want something, their decision should be the final one. If we keep going back to re-doing referendums (both the Indie Ref and the EU one) our country will further be seen as a joke by most EU members, public hostility would grow and we would quickly turn into a Fascist country. They don't want us back now so we have to just leave gracefully.

For sure there is an ugly element to society, but the xenophobia isn't supported and perpetuated by the government as in the dark days.
Support for exiting the EU is rising in other countries also, wasn't the figure given for France something like 53% support the idea of having a binding referendum? We haven't seen the possible domino effect yet in places like Greece.

Britain WILL enter recession, Farage predicts - but Ukip leader insists the downturn has nothing to do with Brexit
Nigel Farage today admitted that Britain is set to slip into recession in the wake of the EU referendum - but insisted it has nothing to do with Brexit.
The Ukip leader said that the UK's economy was likely to shrink in the coming year, blaming the 'mild' downturn on pre-existing conditions.
Mr Farage has consistently rejected expert predictions that Britain would suffer negative economic consequences if it voted to leave the European Union.
