I love Sia, but in her case it is a gimmick to not get "recognized".
Most of her albums before 1000 Forms Of Fear have her face on it. And even then she had some decent and small hits in Australia, UK and other Europe countries
It's just that the masses only know her stuff from Titanium and onwards that she covers her face.
The acts you mentioned have done that since the beginning of their career. Since they didn't want to get recognized from the get go. For Sia it is more a measure after a bad phase of her life to prevent to get recognized everywhere and be able to live her life in peace this time and not fall back in old habits.
