Is being in a Kanye West video supposed to be something to be proud of or an accomplishment?
She's light years beyond Kanye, she doesn't need his acknowledgement.
Quote:
I’m watching a video of 12 of the most famous people on the planet naked in bed together. It’s too early to say what the reaction to “Famous” will be, but West has already won over one constituency. He has previewed the film for a few celebrity pals who don’t appear in it. “Guess what the response is when I show it to them?” he said. “They want to be in the bed.”
For some people, yes it would be an accomplishment. And musically, Kanye West is the most impactful artist of this millennium, even if Taylor is more commercially successful.
Still, I suspect that the same people saying this was perfectly acceptable and artsy would be losing their minds if Kanye had shown people they respect like Beyoncé, Obama (Michelle and Barack) naked.
People usually have "faves" because that artist represents something significant to them and it's perfectly normal to have emotional reactions to that person potentially being disparaged and - in the case of Taylor - continuously harassed. It's further perfectly reasonably for someone to allege that Kanye's video commits some sort of social indecency of objectification or something else; whether they are correct in that allegation can be debated but the discussion is legitimate. Yo don't necessarily have to be the person in the video to take some sort of issue with it.
But to be outraged only because their fave is on this thing has no excuse, so you only get mad and pour your heart out when it affects you? (it really doesn't)
You only bring rape victims into the discussion because it supports your narrative?
Did you think about them when they spoke about Cosby?
Did you support them?
I assure you that most Taylor fans wouldn't flinch if Famous had never included her, they would only call Kanye an attention-seeking and move on with their lives and once again, I'm not dumb enough to believe some of these members are truly outraged when they have been WAAAY more nasty on SYG/NHB.
Erm, why else would he use Cosby? It's because of his recent rape accusations.
Don't forget this:
Which again, the Vanity Fair article already addressed.

What about the inclusion of Cosby? Is that an endorsement? West once tweeted: BILL COSBY INNOCENT !!!!!!!!!!. “It’s not in support or anti any of [the people in the video],” West said. “It’s a comment on fame.”
