This thread is kinda sequel to the Orlando shooting incident. After the incident happened, gay people wanted to give blood, but couldn't and apparently started screaming "bigotry" and even in the thread about it created on here, people immediately started playing the victim too.
Based on this, here's a post that everyone should read that explains very well why the ban is in place and why it makes sense regardless of hurt feelings of gay people and screams of "bigotre!!"

Basically gay men would account for like a 5% increase in blood donations, but msm also account for 50% of new HIV cases, more than any other group, so it makes sense to exclude a low contributing but very high risk group.
Anyways read. The gay community should work on bringing HIV rates down, before we move on to donations.
