Academic qualifications doesn't always correlate to intelligence, some individuals are more privileged than others and thus can afford to go to private/grammar schools. Old people are also living a lot longer, they have a right to vote on how we govern our country.
What kind of measurement do you even suggest? It's not like we can go around and quantify 'stupidity' from door to door.
That would actually benefit conservative politics probably. A lot of uneducated people vote for the left. Plus when the conservatives got in they would start banning gays and blacks from voting.
What do you mean by stupid? How would you quantify it? IQ score? Highest level of education attained?
I guess it's just their opinion. You cannot stop people voting against what you believe just because they are not as smart as you, or if they are much older than you. Unfortunately, sometimes the ignorant people are the loudest, and I guess it showed today.
I definitely think the higher educated people's voted should count at least double.
That wouldn't be a democracy then would it. At the end of the day, the one with the most votes will always win doesn't matter if it's seen as right or wrong. You better 'educate' those people when you were given the time.
In America they used to make it so that you had to be educated to vote so the upper class would make education expensive or hard to get so the lower class or "stupid people" wouldn't be allowed to vote. I would imagine same things would happen there
