Sony Pictures and Nelvana's small-screen version will debut on Disney Channel in the U.S. and elsewhere globally in 2017.
Sony Pictures Animation has licensed its TV treatment of the Hotel Transylvania movie to Disney Channel internationally, including the U.S. market.
Disney nabbed Hotel Transylvania: The Television series for platforms in the U.S., Europe (excluding Germany), Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
"We know the Hotel Transylvania TV series will be in great hands with a strong global broadcasting partner like Disney, and look forward to audiences worldwide discovering the hilarious unknown adventures of a younger Mavis and her monster pals in a new adventure as we expand the franchise into television," Mischel said Monday in a statement.
i wonder what animated shows are even hits nowadays and what standard the show would need to meet to be successful. it feels like the only ones people i know talk about are anime.
