Ugg, Kit does deserve an Emmy for his performance. That moment when he sees 50 horses charging at him, he looks so worn and exhausted.
Then during the fight he gets this savage look on his face, he looked completely tuned ouT. Thats the best acting he's ever done.
He's good at acting with his entire body, using his stances and posture to show his emotional state. Not everyone is. Some people only act with their face, he did both in this episode. Like in Hardhome.
some people give Kit's performance as Jon too much of a hard time. Jon is not a very "in your face" character, he doesn't have the zingers of a Tyrion, Queen Olenna, or Queen Lyanna, nor is he supposed to be as responsive as Cersei, for example. He's made the most with the source material, which is a stoic, lonesome teen thrust into unfamiliar territory, who spends a lot of time thinking in his POV chapters.
