I love ATRL because of the discussions about current events, or at least when people take it seriously.
Also, there isn't a vote system, which means that every comment has equal weight, instead of Reddit where it's easier to bandwagon and choke out opinions you disagree with. Obviously ATRL still has problems with bandwagoning and such, but it's more tolerable.
