1. Zoe is Latina. most people don't understand that Latina/o is not a racial category so for one many Latina and Latinos get to bypass race altogether. Example: Pitbull is a White man, but due to him being Latino people look at him as a minority. It's also a stereotype that many Black latinos hate being black/having black in them and will hide under the Latino label because they know people think it's a race thus causing people to believe their not black. Zoe is proclaiming she is black to make sure people understand she is not one of those people.

2. She is starring in a Nina Simone Bio pic where they darkened her skin, gave her a "black" nose and more things to make her look like Nina Simone and people are outraged because they feel it is disrespectful to Nina Simone. To hire a Light skin woman to play her.

She's black, yes, there's no denying that but the whole thing is kinda ridiculous.
Nina Simone was very proud of her "black features", they could've at least picked an actress that looked like her, instead of the 'whitest black woman' who ended up wearing crazy prosthetics to look the role.

It's already hard for black woman to get major roles in Hollywood, and if can't even get the roles they look the part ...

According to some Latino Americans she won't be called black. I grew up around some Dominicans who were literally black, and they refused to call themselves black. On the reverse, there are some who'll see her and not even consider her to be Latina. They'll see her as just another black person. This goes to show you the ignorance of some on this topic. Its a racially diverse ethnicity, but many see it as the people on TV. To many they think you have to look like JLo or Sofia Vergara to be authentic.

This is different. Like mentioned above, Nina Simone was about black empowerment. She wasn't some comedian. Her features were things that were considered ugly and unfeminine. She didn't agree with this, she was very proud of who she was.

There's many black actresses that fit this role, who don't have to darken their skin. Was it that hard to get Viola Davis on this role?

And the reason so many people dragged you by your baby hairs was because you, a light skin, biracial women, with European features playing a full black dark skin black women. Instead of hiring a a black actress they darken your skin, gave you a fake nose and fuller lips.
