It's gonna be weird for MTV to no longer front like their a music channel.Yep they should. I've been saying that for so long. But they won't because MTV is iconic. It's been around for a long time, and blew up as a music channel (originally), and everyone knows it. You can't just throw it away and call it RTV.

And RTV is not at all hugely marketable like the MTV. They need the ~name~ "MTV." So those three lettas ain't going nowhere!

But what about Cartoon Network? How and when did they rebrand themselves?SHADE SHADE SHADE

We only have ourselves to blame for this. The problem is that the 10th repeat of an episode of The Real World attracts more people than music related programming. Whose fault is that? That is the viewers fault. MTV is giving people what they want, unfortunately that is watching a repeat of one of their reality shows rather than music.

I have no complaints about running their reality shows in primetime. I still can't understand, however, that repeats of those shows at 2 in the afternoon would do better than music. But the fact remains that it does and until that changes, MTV will give you exactly what you want.

Well....I HOPE IT FLOPS!

I understand having reality tv shows because it's "hot" right now, but MTV was born for the music. This is disappointing.

Mtv is lame anyway. At least VH1 still plays music videos every morning and that top 20 countdown on the weekend.

they should at least kept trl to vindicate the MTV name.

Well, yet another sign the world is coming to an end in 2012. For real. :-/ I know, I know, it's not like MTV was actually a music channel since like 2001, but it's still shocking that they would dare to do such thing.

They're obviously keeping the yearly VMAs, correct?
