Which rapper do you prefer out of these two?

They're both talented and respected (Kendrick more) in Hip Hop but in terms of music quality, Kendrick puts out more music with substance. Half of Drake's songs are more fast food music for the GP to enjoy, dance to etc.

To Pimp A Butterfly which is Kendrick's most acclaimed album had a strong pro-black message, was centred around the BLM movement and was also made to uplift the black youth and black people.

Drake has yet to do something like that but I can't see it happening either seeing as he has never spoken up about black issues before so it would be suspect if he started making music about it now. Not to mention that he would also probably lose half of his fanbase which pretty much consists of mostly white people who may not want to hear about issues like that.

Drake is the better overall artist. He doesn't automatically become a bad artist because he doesn't make albums about black issues. The issues he talks about are more universal eg love, relationships. Besides people would give him grief because he wasn't raised in the US. Kendrick is the better rapper probably but let's be honest, no one is really bumping Kendrick in their cars or at the club or on the radio. MJ had hits and didn't go conscious for years but no one wrote off his pop songs because they didn't have a message.

Kendrick, for sure.

Drake for the hits
Kendrick Lamar for the overall bodies of work, and actual artistry.

Kendrick Lamar continues to improve, each of his releases only gets better than the last. He's one of the best, if not the best, lyricists to debut this decade. Kendrick's discography is a flawless 10/10. He's also one of the most creative hip hop act with the best visuals. Kendrick always reminded me of Kanye in a way.

Drake on the other hand plays it safe. The quality of his discography continues to decrease after every release. Take Care was his magnum opus and he has yet to top it. VIEWS was one of the worst hip hop albums this decade, it's filler after filler, sounds dated and rushed. Drake has yet to speak about the BLM movement, but Drake isn't the artist you expect to be politically charged, it would be refereshing but seems like Drake doesn't care. Like you said he releases fast food music to the GP, he's the Katy Perry of hip -hop.

I quite like Drake though but I sort of use him for the odd song.

Drake is a pop artist

I think Drake is more of the Taylor Swift of rap (minus the singing songs about every ex) part as he gets more hits than Katy and I think he has also outsold her.
