I was coming here to post this. More specifically, he had a huge meltdown when Dangerous Woman by Ariana (the album) got blocked for #1 by Drake who sold almost nothing in pure sales but his streams beat Ariana. He started tweeting about how streaming is killing music and other mess then quickly deleted it (some of the responses are still around but you would have to look for them). That's when he declared he would stop doing the charts (but then deleted that tweet aswell) and continued doing the charts until today.
i used to always write "zayn is better" or "zayn outsold" even though he didnt outsell anyone. ill miss that account
