iMessage should purely belong to iPhones. i mean it would be better because it annoys me when i see the green text bubble but it would feel.. so weird? idk. if you want iMessage then get a iPhone, plain & simple.

I wish it did go multi-platform because I hate those ugly green bubbles I get when i text my 2 poor friends. they are not aesthetically pleasing.

iMessage is more than just the iPhones version of a texting app? Literally wouldn't see a single reason to download it when I've already got one of them on my phone.

I do not message people with green bubbles. Two of my friends are only allowed to message me over WeChat, or else they'd be green.

Apple is turning it into a platform where you can customize keyboards, add extensions like built in search and artificially intelligent suggestions, to restaurant suggestions and travel routes automatically pre-fetched based on your conversations. This is what WeChat, KakaoTalk, WhatsApp, and Google's flop new services are trying to do by using the cloud. All of Apple's new features remain on your phone and not on a sever, and messages are all encrypted. Messaging apps are becoming minauture operating systems.
