YES. She already has some Hollywood cred from Smash AND she's legit Broadway, so they could cast a big Hollywood name for Elphaba.

Lea is such a perfect choice, she can sing the hell out of those song and can really act. I know some people might think shes annoying because of her character on Glee, but the girl is so talented.

Lea really deserves this and can do the role justice. But i think it`s too obvious that it will be disadvantaged for her to get cast. /Like they reject her Eponine in Les Mis.

Gaga coming for her third Oscar

This is amazing news. I always wanted to see the musical but never could, so this is great for me. Excited to find out who'll be in it.

here for Lea Michele & Dove Cameron in the lead roles. even Cheno herself said last year that she wanted Dove to play her part if the movie was made

I reckon Baz Luhrmann would be a great director to helm this.

He'd take the musical into a new, fresh place and create a complex, interesting Oz. It risks being too 'Dark Disney' - a mix of Maleficent, Burton's Alice, and Oz The Great and Powerful. That feels too campy to me. The Wicked novel is dark, and while the stage show is sweeter it does feel like it could be more grown up/intelligent. The staging is almost steampunk, after all.

The Wiz on NBC was big though.
People were guessing that NBC was doing Emerald City just to hype up the now-officially-announced Wicked film.
Plus Wicked has been one of the T2 selling Broadway soundtracks 12 years in a row now. Probably 13 this year.

The Oscars disagreed.
She was amazing.
She's the only one who could get an Oscar nom for Morrible.

Daldry has a way better Oscar record and a way better Tony record.

Luckily though, Universal is doing Wicked.
