Thing is, the demonic Nun didn't have to do with anything related to the Enfield poltergeist and the Amytiville story. It was just a way to connect both stories in a logical way in the movie. James Wan, director of The Conjuring 2, came up with the design and custom of the demon during the re-shoots they had a couple of months ago and we can thank the real Lorraine Warren for that since she helped him a lot. A spin-off would be great so we would know more about this demon.
Annabelle gets far too much unwarranted hate. It is a decent film that suffered from a lot of unreasonably high expectations. Not nearly the caliber of The Conjuring or its sequel, but it had a really interesting story and some great scares.
I'm here for this spinoff though, but they need to rename it before it is released. The Nun is a terrible title.
