im not saying you heard wrong but for someone who's made a career by strictly controlling her image, it seems weird that Taylor would give blanket permission for him to use her name without knowing how he would use it.

this what happened: kanye asked if he could give her a shout out in the song. she said yeah. he then asked her if she'd tweet the song when it was released, she said no, and he changed the lyric out of anger/ pettiness.
