Yeah okay it was an ignorant thing to say but I doubt he's actually homophobic. He's probably just accustomed to that sort of language, I don't think he was actually trying to insult gay people. Not that it makes it okay but I don't believe his intent was to be homophobic

Y'all are so sensitive ffs. It's like when straight guys say "that's gay" and y'all want to lynch them. Is it ignorant? Sure. But does it automatically mean they're a homophobe who hates all gay people and wants to deny rights? Obviously not.

Sometimes you grow up hearing/using words without thinking about their origins and just say them because they have become a part of your vocabulary. There isn't always homophobic intent.

He apologized and deleted his tweet anyway so people should move on.

And I never said it was okay for straight guys to say homophobic slurs, I'd rather they didn't obviously. All I'm saying is that they're not all necessarily raging homophobes or terrible people for making a dumb comment.

He's a 43 year old man. He needs to take responsibility for the words that come out of this mouth. Why is someone that age trash talking like that anyway?

This to be honest. Plus thank goodness that he apologized and that is really what matters at the moment. I hope people stop attacking him now.
