You say validation others say signs of compassion..

Fans like to feel appreciated and like to be defended when their community is attacked just like how fans stand up for their fave on Twitter etc. No fan really wants to stan for an artist like Justin Bieber who doesn't appreciate and abuses their fans.

This, they have the power and platform they can use to help people. Not everyone is kind like that though.

you know that them writing about the tragedy and expressing their sadness doesnt change anything? like im quite sure they feel the same way about tragedies like that as every normal thinking person does : sad and disgusted. its not that some crazy killer is going to read taylor swifts instagram caption and all of a sudden changes his opinon like "omg so killing people is actually a bad thing, thanks taylor". not addressing something on social media doesnt mean that that person doesnt care. celebs writing/ not writing about the whole thing on social media is literally the least important aspect about the whole shooting

How ignorant can you be? This was a hate crime against a marginalized group of people. A hate crime that happened because of people treating our rights as secondary and not equal. When a high caliber celebrity shows support and talks about this heinous crime by calling it what it is, a hate crime against LGBT people it makes a huge difference.

Why do you think they make celebrities endorse certain products/politicians etc. Because they have the power to convince people to do something. Or at least convince them to buy/act on something they were hesitant/unsure of before.

Man you people are spoiled by social media. And so entitled, too. They're musicians/actors not politicians. They're not obligated to communicate their feelings about all events.

Also maybe worry about the victims and their families instead of a celebrity tweet?

I'm noticing a certain pattern here of people who think celebrities shouldn't be vocal about social issues.

Yes, a lot of people here are so caught up in stanning people they don't know that they become a bit irrational with their expectations of them.

I dont think they need to either, I don't get why ppl feel like they HAVE to... but when they do, it's definitely worth of praise!
