there is a stigma with HIV because it cant be cured and can kill you. a person being scared of HIV is not being discriminatory, they are being rational

its also a great filter for people who dont want to deal with the possibility of contracting the virus

are you reading your posts before replying? or mine for that matter? I don't think people with HIV are lesser people. I don't think that by not having HIV, I'm better. For that matter, I don't think I'm better than a black gay man as a white gay man, for anyone who still thinks I'm somehow racist.

I'm just a very pragmatic person. I weigh the pros and the cons. I've decided that getting HIV is not something I would be ok with, and is not something that would make my life better. So yes, like avoiding lots of dangers, HIV is just another one of the dangers I actively seek to avoid because I decided I don't want to be HIV-positive.

And I want to add, your hand-waving, as if HIV is not that bad or serious of a disease, helps contribute to some of the lax attitudes towards safe sex that is partially responsible for HIV spreading in recent years.

So rational. You're having sex with a person who knows he's HIV+ and takes medicine then he's indetectable and then you use a condom with 96% of chances to work. Then if something goes wrong you can get PrEP. Yes, you're fear is totally rational...

Someone already told you to get check and your partner check before sex. You coming up with these excuses is ridiculous. PreP? Most gays swear by it but it isn't 100% effective. Men on the drug have recently been infected with the virus. PreP is/was a false hope.

I'm using statistics to make a rational decision about sex. If more people did that, we wouldn't have such a big HIV problem regardless of race.

My mother, who happens to be an infectious disease doctor has always explained this very clearly and provides her her patients with the necessary research to back up the claim that condoms do offer you protection.

Here is just one sample of what the scientific establishment agrees upon. Nothing is 100% safe, except absolute abstinence and celibacy, and that kind of thinking/behavior is unlikely in this day and age:

But you do you and keep spreading misinformation. One thing is to be safe, careful, responsible, and cautious. I don't blame TikiMiss for being afraid of this virus because it is a terrible disease (my older brother died from it). But another one is being irrationally fearful and stigmatizing of those who live with it.

The reason that is so high is that there are too many Blacks and Hispanics on the DL or just don't want to use protection. I know this from experience and, yes I get around. But I am 100% protection. No questions ask. But the number of Blacks and Hispanics that ask me to not use protection is higher than the request from Whites and/or Asians that I talk to online. And yes 2 times I had the broken condom accident and have been on PrEP. I hate taking it. Not sure what those chemicals are doing to my body.

Your fear is understandable. I have been rejected since I am Hispanic Online so many times. And well statistics don't lie. But it is your choice.I don't think is racist to have this fear. But don't close your self completely to a Black person or Hispanic person in the future. Just be careful, use protection and have fun.

thank you I'm not one of the "no blacks, no hispanics" types btw and I have dated men of color in the past. I just don't do the one-night-stands and grindr hookups that much or with people who might be risky, which I know sounds wrong but...eh. worth the safety of mind.

Lol @ getting tested. Many people have sex with almost complete strangers after clubbing/ a party. Using a condom is the only answer.
