Leading seven weeks, "Avatar" was finally overthrown in the U.S. box office. 'Dear John', a romantic drama with Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, led to this weekend in the U.S., leaving behind the over-production of James Cameron.
The film's Swiss Lasse Hallström reached 32.4 million dollars in revenue, as 'Avatar' is not beyond the 23.6 million dollars. This passage to the background happens after "Avatar" to consecrate the box office champion of all time.
The film directed by James Cameron achieved revenues of 630 million dollars in the U.S. alone. In the world, the profits from ticket sales have already reached the astronomical sum of 2.2 billion dollars.
Well Avatar couldn't be on top forever... it was there for a long time and was an incredible movie, but all good things must come to an end. Haven't seen Dear John yet, but I find it funny that two Mean Girls stars have starred in movies that are romantic dramas by the same director.
