No need for a genetic fallacy - I'm an Australian descendant of British colonists and have devoted a lot of my time travelling across the country to these communities - educating, creating partnerships, sharing culture and ultimately, bridging the gap. If we were to say "Asians did this! Americans did that!" based upon the actions of independent people, we'd be in discussion perpetually.
In your original post, you attempted to dismiss
one person's concern for the state of another group of people on the earth we all share, upon the basis that; "[the entirety of] Australia really shouldn't act high and mighty when it comes to senseless death when they exterminated a group of people from their homelands and still discriminate against them as we speak". I don't wish to act high and mighty, nor do I discriminate against the aboriginal population of my country
and it's my belief that the American government should work harder to regulate and outlaw gun use so as to make its people - people that I admire and respect - safer. It doesn't come from a place of me being on my high horse or looking down on America, it comes from a deep concern for it's citizens, of whom I hear of violent attacks towards every day.
Without a generalisation or genetic fallacy, I'm just not sure how you could rebut that. I understand that if you're an American, you may feel embarrassed that today people are "dragging" you or expressing concern over a lack of regulation in your country. If you wish for your feelings to cease, please channel this energy into becoming an activist and a voice for safety in regards to gun violence in your country.
