I can see them having a comeback every 1.5 years to keep the brand alive and just using the group name inbetween for their solo careers and SNSD-SHY.

I don't think any of them could be able to leave the group without it seriously affecting their solo careers/public image. Whatever reason they gave for leaving, whenever they get to their solo activities they'll be criticised. "oh so she left SNSD to go on a swimming show in China? Kekekeke"

Even Taeyeon or Yoona wouldn't be able to get away with 'abandoning the NGG'.
